Hi All, That is the entry forms ready for round 3 at the end of this month, it makes it easier for everyone if the entries are sent in as all you have to do then on the day is get scrutineerd and sign in.
The fourth round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship was held at the infamous Shropshire circuit, Hawkstone Park.
Race 1 - 20th
Race 2 - 18th
This would be Ricky Mair's final British Motocross appearance of 2009 as he turns his attention to the British Enduro Championship with the hope of riding the ISDE in Portugal.
Moving down to the MX2 class proved to be a good choice for Ricky despite the fierce crop of youngsters dominating the category so far this season.
Ricky managed to put in a good lap and qualified in 26th place on his G-FORCE KTM 250F. Temperatures soared high and by the time of the first race the sun was baking on the rough sandy course.
Ricky gated mid pack and pulled through to 18th by the midway stage only to crash hard in the whoop section. He remounted in 23rd and through true grit and determination clawed his way back into the points and finished an eventual 20th.
Race 2 proved to be a test of stamina and determination as the track was now in a sorry state and heat was intense. Ricky rounded the first lap in around 20th and began to charge hard making his way into 16th before slipping off in a sandy turn, the racing is so intense that even a small fall can be costly. As other riders suffered with the heat and demanding course, Ricky relished the conditions and never stopped charging ending the race in a creditable 18th position.
"It feels good to be back on the 250F and I'm starting to really enjoy my riding again. It's a shame this will be my last British Motocross, as after today I know that a top 15 is definately achievable. My G-FORCE KTM ran awesome today, the bike is completely 'out of the crate' standard which is very rare in the MX2 class. It just shows how competetive the KTM 250F is."
Ricky would like to thank G-FORCE SUSPENSION, WULFSPORT, MOTUL, MXM, RIP'N'ROLL, WER Steering Dampers, Dennis Irvine Superbikes, Dynamic Equipment Co. MD RACING, CORE, ORO and Grampian MCC for their continued support.
