Anybody on the forum riding it?
If you're not doing it then you must be helping out because if you've got any sense you won't want to miss it!!
Me and Angus manned a check at Woodside at the British round in 2006 and had a great weekend watching the top guys.
It'll be your loss if you don't get involved.

Well the usual dedicated enduro suspects, Kev Gauld, John Little, Gilbert Rae, Willie Grant and Brian Donald (old Git) were out braving the elements,(Rain,Sleet and snow) yesterday at Heldon hill, Monaughty scouting out routes for the forthcoming enduro and all is set for a great event as Brian says in the post prior to this one.
GMCC Officials are most definitely down and dirty |

If it's any use to you Stucinabog we were out at Lossie today and spent a lot of time and way too much effort on removing the worst tree stumps on the route of the test, tools used spade, axe then rope and quad .
It's definetly shaping up to be a cracker of event and it was confirmed today by the MoD that we have secured the Milton airfied so hard standing this year not wallowing in mud. |

That sounds good to me... now if you could just nip back out and remove all the trees within a 100ft of the track that would be perfect!
What are the tests? I've done the lossie and monaughty enduros in the past. Are those tests going to be part of it as well as woodside mx track?
cheers

All your questions andswered Stu
The Metzeler British Enduro Championship Returns to Elgin, Scotland
The Metzeler British Enduro Championship is returning to Elgin in Scotland, during the Easter weekend on the 22nd and 23rd March. The inclusion of this Scottish round transforms this championship into a truly British championship. The dates enable competitors to travel to and from Elgin over the holiday weekend. The route to Elgin includes a beautiful drive through the Scottish highlands including the whisky trail passing many of Scotland’s finest distilleries.
Following on from the tremendously successful event in 2006 the Grampian Motor Cycle Club, including ex Scotland ISDE team manager Johnny Little, have extended the course to include three venues and a new parking facility. The parking generated the most complaints in 2006 and this has been resolved with a hard standing car park on loan from the ministry of defence.
The course will include timed stages through two forests and a motocross special test at Woodside Motocross track on the outskirts of Elgin. The special test in Lossie forest that included a blast along the edge of the dunes, beside the beach, will return by popular demand. The routes through the woods were established for the two very enjoyable Scottish Enduro Championships, held in the same forests, endorsed by British Enduro regulars Derek Little and Richard Hay. Johnny Little has always run the event on the basis that if a rider has taken the trouble to travel all the way to the north east of Scotland he would like them to enjoy themselves. The Lossie forest is similar to the Diss John Banks Enduro and Monaughty forest is similar again with hard rock underneath that provides good grip regardless of the weather. On one occasion the bikes did not require cleaning as the sand did not stick to the bikes. There are several reports and photographs from previous events available to view on Scottish Enduros Website.
In 2006 overall winner David Knight described this event as one of the best Enduros he had ever ridden. The atmosphere at the final motocross was electric and video footage of David and Euan McConnell clashing, knocking each other off in the motocross test can still be viewed at the clubs site www.gmccsite.com. Ricky Mair was on outstanding form in 2006 and he is hoping his motocross calendar will have a gap that will allow him to participate.
Regulations are available from www.scottishenduros.co.uk and www.enduronews.com entries have been filling up fast with 140 received in the first five days. The entry limit has been raised to 350 allowing for a large sportsman class, do not delay, send away your entry now, you will not be disappointed. Your bike will have to be road legal as the forests are only connected by public roads. There are several excellent Hotels and bed and breakfast facilities in the area, a list is provided with the regulations. |

Well we went out today into the frozen fog and the destination was Lossie clearing logs, branches, trees and removing more stumps from the special test and a couple of new routes were found aswell including one which was totally unpassable and only found accidently by an un-named 65cc rider with a jammed open throttle
No injury sustained so was very amusing
The entry is filling up well 170ish and David Knight now has his entry in, and after applying to the Scottish Office we are allowed 350 riders which would be amazing if we could get a full entry |

Give the un-named rider our regards. I wish we could have made it up!
Great to here that DK is riding here again.
We're all really looking forward to an awesome weekend. A full entry would be brilliant.

Hi Old Git,
I'll let Dean know yous were asking after him HaHa.
Shame you couldn't make it through today but as for the morning it was freezing and I mean that literally and when we were clearing paths still at 2 oclock the wood was still stuck to the ground with frost, so you didn't miss much!
It will be a great event although there's too many places you'd want to be to see the top riders, however Woodside will be the place to be on the Sunday afternoon |
